Mary Ince is a visual artist specializing in printmaking, drawing, and mixed media sculpture. Her inspirations come from a search for a marriage of technical excellence provided by materials, subject matter, and process. Mixed media sculptures evoke both visual and tactile textures. Her paper sculptures are created from overlays of heavy paper or drafting film. Using reflected light, she creates shadows of white values or faintly colored reflection on these surfaces.

She has renewed her love for the printing process, and now works in several different genres. Much of her print work involves organic forms, the use of the grid, and abstraction. Color plays an important part in her work. Her drawings employ pen and ink, graphite, charcoal, and watercolor crayon on paper and Mylar.

Born in California into an artistic, musical family, she graduated from a small liberal arts college with a major in Graphic Arts, concentrating on printmaking. Currently she maintains studios on both coasts.
